Naw, that Philly team has zero offensive talent besides AI. At least Bron got some teammates who in theory should be able to get a bucket. Imagine the shot clock winding down and potentially having to pass to Eric Snow or George Lynch :hhh:

Bron doesn't have to imagine. He got to the Finals in '07 with a washed version of Eric Snow.

James is averaging some 34 points on 23 shots with 9 assists this postseason while shooting maybe 53%. AI was averaging 33 points on 30 shots with 6 assists. I don’t want to hear about teammates either. Iverson shot 15-59 in games 4-5 of the eastern finals and his team won both games. Kevin Love is averaging 14 points on 39% shooting. He’s the only cavaliers player besides James averaging ten points or more. We really need to stop trying to act like AI carried them single handedly or that his 2001 playoffs are even remotely close to this.

I think AI's lack of efficiency and his volume of shots kinds proves that he at least HAD to carry them offensively. If the argument is which player is more efficient or which player is better, than its clearly LeBron. But AI's usage and his shot selection kinda validates the point that he carried them. Both teams had their flaws and their strengths. Who was the 2nd highest scorer on that Philly team? While having a rim protector like Mutumbo us valuable, offensively that team was overwhelmingly dependent on Iverson to generate points. Especially in a slower paced, sloppier early 00's NBA. We need to to really re-evaluate what we consider "carrying" a team single handedly, if we can't consider what AI did in 2001 as just that. Think about how inefficient LeBron was in the 2015 Finals when he was the sole offense. While this year's Cleveland team struggled defensively in the regular season, they still had plus defenders of the roster. 33ppg and 6ast is impressive whether it's AI or LeBron. Even with DPOY on his team, he carried them. DPOY won't get you to the finals without having someone to shoulder that offensive load.

It’s impressive this Cavs team is getting to the Finals but it wasn’t THAT impressive. All season we knew this team was getting there even when they were “struggling”. Nobody else had a chance.

Iverson had no 2nd option.... so no

If Iverson had Kevin Love, Jr Smith and Kyle Korver caliber players he would have won more than 1 game in the finals

And don't bring up Mutumbo, yes he was a great defensive player but he was lucky to put up 8 points a game at that point.

Draymond Green is arguably a better player now than Mutumbo was at that point in terms of dependable offense.

With all that said what Lebron has done is still impressive in of its own right

Iverson went through Vince Carter and Big Dog/Ray Allen. LeBron went through Oladipo, Raptors and Al Horford.

Iverson wins.
You're forgetting a sharp shooting Reggie Miller

So I’m guessing Bron loves the “Bron needs more help” teams so people can say he dragged them to the finals when they win and he needs more help when they lose. Allen Iverson wins lol
