He failed to crack 1000 yards this year despite playing in all 16 games. Before you blame Carson Palmer, check the stats. He did have over 4200 yards, good for 8th in the league. I haven't watched much of him this year & hate to rely on stats but its damn near impossible for an elite player at a skill position to not get 1000 yards. You can say hes the only good receiver on his team but Calvin Johnson has the same problem. You can blame the QB despite the numbers, but Josh Gordon balled out with Hoyer/Weeden/Campbell at qb. Again I havent watched many Cards games but can someone explain how this happens to a guy who is supposedly still a top 3-5 wr in the nfl?

fitzgerald is not a top 5 WR in the NFL first off.

another thing that makes it look bad is that the NFL is really a pass first league, and there were a shyt load of WR's who cracked 1000 yards this season. given he played all the games, there's no reason he shouldn't have reached that # as a primary WR down there in phx.

he's definitely not what he once was, but in his defense, he played a big stretch of the season with nagging injuries

He suffered with a hamstring injury all year. It's not the same as when he had Kurt Warner throwing him the ball.Kurt Warner wasn't afraid to just throw the ball up even when it seemed like Fitz was covered. His jump ball skills/ hand eye coordination might be top 3 all time at the WR position.

Other QB's don't seem to have that same confidence.Palmer is horrible at throwing jump balls. He always under throws his receivers in that situation.

That being said, I do think he has slowed down a lil bit.Michael Floyd might take the mantle from him next year.

Floyd is still young.Came out after his sophomore year at Notre Dame I believe.Had over 1,000 yards receiving in his 2nd year.Normally takes WR's about 3-4 years to really hit their side.Could see Floyd become the #1 receiver in AZ next season.he's physical, but the thing I don't like about him, he seems to have trouble with the intermediate/ slant route. If he could patch that up, he has the potential to be a pro bowl level wideout
