Is Komplete 10 Ultimate overkill for making rap/pop/r&b beats?

Im new to NI and never owned or used Komplete so im not really sure if Komplete 10 is all I need or if the Ultimate version would be better

I can get Komplete 10 for $175 or Komplete 10 Ultimate for $375 with the 50% off crossgrade sale NI is having plus a e-voucher i got

Ive been trying to do my research on the differences but surprisingly there isn't as much info out there for rap/r&b producers.Most of the opinions ive read are from edm producers or people who do movie/tv scores

The main differences ive noticed is you get alot more scarbee basses,alot more cinematic stuff,more plugins,a couple more synths and pianos with Ultimate

I also noticed you get Session Strings and Session Horns with Komplete but get the Pro versions of both with Ultimate

You also get Action Strings with Ultimate which is for movie scoring but sounds like you could make some dope trap shyt with it

Any Komplete owners in the Tunnel?

Is the Ultimate version worth it or is Komplete 10 more that enough?

Keep in mind if i do get Ultimate I'll be paying $375 for it not $1000

What I really want to know is if all the extra stuff you get with Ultimate thats not in the normal Komplete 10 worth the extra $200?

Is there a huge difference between Session Strings/Horns(Komplete 10) and Session Strings/Horns Pro(Ultimate)?

How good is Razor?(you only get that with Ultimate)

Do I really need all the extra effects you get with Ultimate?(enhanced EQ,passive EQ,RC 48,RC 24,etc)

Are the 5 extra Scarbee guitar/basses worth it?

Are the extra cinematic plugins you get with Ultimate(Action Strings/Strikes,Damage,Rise & Hit,Evolve,Evovle Mutations 1 & 2) good for making rap/pop/r&b) beats?

Go with your budget man , you have enough with komplete 10 alone but with ultimate you gete like 320g of stuff instead of 120 . I own komplete 9 and still did'nt try everything yet but this bundle is solid . Id get the ultimate version if i could .

I can afford either so the money isn't a problem

I just don't want to cop Ultimate and end up only using 10% of it

I also dont want to cop Komplete 10 and feel like im missing out on all the stuff you get with Ultimate

I really wish I could play around with both to make this decision

ive owned k9 (not ultimate) since the beginning of 2014 and havent even touched a fraction of whats there, and im on my maschine just about every day

without ultimate, youre talking thousands of presets, on top the tools to create your own, on top of the sampling maschine can do, on top of any other plugins you might grab.

imo its more than enough

However I am looking at maybe doing the upgrade as it would only be $149 for me(with my voucher I have)

the strings, horns, pianos are all great and I use them all the time for my beats. THe synths and basses are great as well.

I've looked in to ultimate as well, and I was almos trying to justify to myself if I would use any of that extra stuff. Ultimately I decided I wouldn't.

The extra effects are cool. but for mostly hiphop( I dabble with EDM a bit as well) I have more than enough tools with Komplete.....and that is Komplete 8

I still haven't really started messing with Guitar rig and all the effects there. I have messed with all the synths though and they are all pretty dope. Massice, Absynth, FM8, Monark and the Reaktor synths are all pretty useful.

IMO, the extra stuff wasn't worth the extra money...for me.

you can always "update" to ultimate later, I think the price difference is the same. So you wouldn't really be losing anything at the moment.

TBH I've never used any of this outside of the EQs & Compressors

If money is not an issue id cop the ultimate version but that's me . Alot of great cinematic stuff that can be use for hip hop like you said and possibillity are endless . Your kontakt 5 will have shyt load of stuff and this vst alone with all the expansion worth the money . The rest is just extra . You also get the external hard drive with ultimate and not with the regular version .

I do not recommend it. Get rickenbaucher bass and epic horns for kontakt. The rest of instruments are done better with other VsTs like sylenth1, serum, or massive. im heavily sample based tho, and my trap needs are met using other synths. They are high quality but cpu demanding etc
