Well, he's a musician.
Press is for promoting your album, cause the interviews around "PR-Times" are usually mediocre and most of them sound exactly the same with this internet times all you need to do is put 1 interview on youtube and the blogs will post it. Kanye doesn't seem very eager to maximize his sales, he's always been an artist first business man 2nd. I have no problems with musicians letting their music speak, the labels are probably the only ones who do. The immature thing about it is probably that Kanye might be doing it cause he thinks it's "swag", his new trend or some shyt like that. Like when he strictly rocked suits at one point. Cause we all know Kanye loves to talk specially to hiphop people that he knows like Funk, Sway, Clue and them.

Considering all the -shyt that's liable to come out of his mouth; it's probably for the best.

The only thing about them, is I feel they didnt do all the media stuff just because they just dont (I mean the shyt is probably tedious answering the same questions all the damn time, Id hate it too. I was watching that Lala interview on the Breakfast club and they had ppl call-in and ask her for advice and 3 ppl back-to-back-to-back asked her the same damn question "how do you balance your family life, personal life, and business life").

Kanye on the other-hand just seems to be doing it to have some kind of diva-reverse inception effect in hopes of getting even MORE atention. We all know Kanye loves the attention.

I think he said he doesn't do press anymore because they always use what he says out of context when they publish the interviews, and after the Matt Lauer incident he won't do live interviews either.

and to answer the thread starter, Ye acts like a diva now. And media should ignore his music and just let the consumer decide if they want to buy his shyt.

Funny when celebs wanna be stars, they do anything to be in front of a mic.

In reality though, the GOOD Music artists are promoting themselves. Doing promo, capitalizing off what they did on the compilation, and just having the Kanye co-sign is going to help them....even if its just a little bit

Other celebrities dont interrupt award shows and disrespect country singers while their accepting awards, other celebrities dont on live tv say the president doesnt like black ppl well the focus should be on hurricane Katrina victims, other celebrities dont show up on red carpets with a bottle of henny and squeezing the ass of their bald ex-stripper girlfriend. Kanye actions is the exact reason their is a double standard.

Anyways I dont care about the nikkas personal life. I dont want any interviews either. Only media-ish thing I'd want from Kanye is to describe the creative process of them making the album and shyt like that. Some more in studio stuff.
