Is it time to say Finn is a flop on the Main Roster?

No fault of his own, but it seems as if son is a wrap. He came in with such an allure and buzz and they squandered it. I guess in their minds they were protecting him, by keeping him in a holding pattern. He gets hurt, comes back and does nothing for a year... every feud has felt like filler. For no payoff really. Unless he wins the Rumble.

I’m not sure he’s salvageable at this point. Not on RAW at least.

The problem is this; the champ (Brock) is never around, and he’s being saved for one person (Roman) so nobody else can get over until Roman does.

Same thing happened to Seth when he came back, people were ready to choose him over Roman. They said “nah keep him heel, because we don’t want the competition.”, Same thing happened to Dean too.

Woulda happened to AJ had he not been lucky enough to go to Smackdown.

Finn is just there... nothing compelling or iconic. No good segments... There are no good storylines to keep Finn occupied because they don’t bother to write any anymore.

And all this time has given people too much of a chance to assess and nitpick his short comings. His first night on RAW and his Summerslam wins nobody questioned much. Now people seem to be “oh he only does kicks”, “he’s small”,”he can’t talk” etc.

They took the shine off of him. This whole Brock Royal Rumble thing made it even worse. He’s in a less prominent role than Jason Jordan.

They always think they can hear people up when they want to. Then when things don’t connect they blame the performer.

So my question is... is it a wrap for Prince Devitt???

Coming up to the main roster is like getting processed for county :russ:

Gotta get stripped, hosed down, then givin your linens, and don't expect to eat like the special inmates :dead:

But he also had the misfortune of getting hurt. Who knows if he would have worked if he hadn't, tho.

In terms of his July 2016 push, I would say yes. He's currently in a feud with a Miz-less Miztourage, and it doesn't seem to be getting better for him because the Main Event scene is filled with Brock, Strowman, Kane, Reigns, Joe, and hell even JJ and Elias may eclipse him down the road.

Dude was a flop in NXT too if you look past the smark favoritism. Dude's championship reign was garbage, he couldn't carry a feud to save his life and pretty much started the awful trend of "this guy has no character or charisma, here's a video of him working his way up through the indies for your approval" that Trips uses for every generic wrestler that will never draw a dime.

I'm sure at this point Trips' approval is the only thing preventing Vince from dumping his ass in 205 Live.

He’s a cruiserweight :yeshrug:

Protected or not... breh been lapped by Roman Braun and he couldn’t even put on a decently believable match against Elias or Jason Jordan...
Why even mention Roman...they wanted him pushed over Bryan...so you know the booking is fukked up backstage when it comes to priorities and making sense.

OP you hit the nail on the head. The whole roster has this problem. All year they’ve been clearly building to have Brock hold the belt until wrestle mania and for Roman to win the rumble and take the title from him as they try to give him his big coronation for the fourth year in a row as it flops. Meanwhile they neglect literally everything else about the product. Recall what punk said in 2014: “they literally have no plans for anyone going forward except for Cena. That’s all they care about”. Apply that to Roman now too. The whole product sucks because they don’t want another repeat of 2015 when Bryan came back and was clearly the most over face and the crowd knew exactly who they wanted. They’re totally fine with everyone else getting crickets if they can’t get Roman over.
