Why are there two WWE Titles here? I didn't watch back when this was going on.
1. Punk said in a controversial promo that he was gonna leave the company when his contract is up in a few weeks whether he won the WWE title or not at the upcoming "MITB PPV 2011"

2. Punk started picking up massive media and internet attention for being the controversial rebel and saying some "real life" shyt about WWE and how Cena is viewed as a God in the company.

3. Punk won a classic wwe title match in his hometown of Chicago at the "MITB PPV" in a very "attitude era sque" type of atmosphere

4. CM Punk didnt show up on Raw the next night as he was on Twitter showing his new WWE title belt off at his house and at a Cubs game living up the fact that he indeed "quit the WWE" and kept the WWE title as his own

5. Following week, WWE had like a "mini Raw tournament" to crown the New WWE Champion (since Punk was unemployed) which Rey Mysterio won but somehow Cena won it back later in the night

6. The video above is what happens after Cena wins the bet near the end of the show. Punk returns with new music, new titantron, and carrying the Real WWE Championship leading to a "Champion vs Champion" match @ Summerslam 2011

a.k.a

the infamous "Summer of Punk" :youngsabo:

Thanks breh. Is this worth checking out? Is it on YouTube? Seems like I missed some fukkery.
Yes, its the last time WWE felt like old times

the best moment in WWE since the Attitude Era superstars ran shyt

sadly, it only really lasted from July 11' - September 11'

HHH & Kevin Nash buries Punk and he never truly recovered (IMO)

The thing about Final Countdown was people singing along and hitting the barricades/clapping before the chorus. That's not gonna happen with WWE fans unless it's a post-WM crowd. It would take a lot time to make that magic work in the big stage and as people have already said you don't mess with an entrance that is already over. The Punk thing was different because even though people knew his theme, his entrance didn't change and didn't depend on crowd interaction.

Still, Final Countdown is GOAT

:wow:

7. Instead of becoming the main guy in the company, Phil Brooks refused to take a shower, didn't hit the wights and missed on getting a clue :rambo:

Definitely agree that his theme doesn't seem "main-event" level. When you hear Cult Of Personality drop, you know **** is about to go down. Don't get that same effect with Bryan.

But on the other hand, I can't picture him coming out to anything different and his theme suits him. Aslong as they "YES" chants stick, he'll be fine. That's the focal point, the theme becomes irrelevant.
