Is it safe to say Playstation Network almost single-handedly set online gaming back?

Here's one thing. This thread's point is moot because the PS4 has these "features" that supposedly is current. There's no point in discussing PSN flaws because as of now, PS4 has party chat, live streaming, remote connections to friends, social media integration etc.
Move along. It's retarded when people say PSN online is trash when minus party chat, it works EXACTLY the same as Xboxes. nikkas act like when you start up COD or Battlefield on ps3, the interface and matchmaking is drastically different. :snoop:

nah, thats just all Playstation offers you so you're content :bryan:

Sounding like an Apple stan's opinion on Android "who really needs all those cool extra features?"

I'm a grown man. What do I look like paying to play video games I already paid to buy? I might go 2-3 months without playing any games period....why should I have to still be paying for something I'm not even using? :rudy: In fact, if you're not playing everyday or damn near every day, you're throwing money away by paying to be online.

And then, if I get the sudden urge to play, why should i have to go get my wallet, credit card and buy some time, so to speak? That's lame.

And why do I want to party chat? Whatever that is. I can be playing Battlefield with several other people and everyone can be talking on the mic.

And I dont browse the internet on my PS3 b/c I have a laptop or my phone sitting right next to me at all times.

You pay for what you get. Hence Playstation network being years behind in online features and overall the garbage bin of online gaming.

You're also a grown ass man complaining about something that averages out to 5 bucks A MONTH. Thats less than a #1 at mcdonalds, the same price as a damn blunt :comeon:

I don't drive everyday so why do I need a car? It doesnt rain every day so why would I need an umbrella? You pay for what you get. Free items usually come with a catch, and with PSN it's the service being inferior in almost every imaginable way to xbox live

Playstation users can never think of reasons they'd use party chat because they've never even had an option. I bet cavemen didn't know what they could do with a fire before the first man-made flames were available. I regularly use parties and so do most of the active people on my friends list. Whether youre in a game and dont wanna deal with hearing a group of racists cacs on your squad....or you have a full squad playing call of duty, while two other people talk shyt as they go at it in a game of 2k, while someone else is commenting on the flick they're watching on netflix...all while still chatting together in the same party

But all of that is like foreign language to PSN users :steviej: y'all so used to the stripped down shytty ecosystem youre in i bet its hard to imagine the convenience of nice things like that

He had to divert the fact that the Xbox One was getting unanimously shytted on, so he had to point out a damn near decade old argument about PSN.

It's amazing how serious some of y'all take this stuff.

I'm an old school gamer. Playing online is NOT a priority for me, never has been and never will be. If not for Battlefield 3, I wouldnt play anything online. Why should I throw away ANY money, regardless of the amount if I'm not gonna use it.

:what: I could care less about hearing a bunch of people in my ear talking about unrelated game stuff. What's the appeal of that?

Fact is, I get on PSN, play when I want. The speed is great, I never have server issues. If I don't play for the next 4-5 weeks, then I'm not still being charged for something I don;t use.

And for the amount of you who think it's cool to brag about how you don't pay for music/movies, y'all would GLADLY play XBox for free if you could. :comeon:

then you're a very small almost non existant minority and not who these new systems are intended for. Infact you would probably be happier purchasing a Sega Genesis and calling it a day.

Online gaming is the present and future, anyone who can pay 400+ and 60 for a system/games is a then complain about something that again costs 5 dollars a month is really just a cheap b*stard who wants to make excuses for using an inferior product.

And you comparing burning CD's and Movies to using an online service like XBL is not exactly a great argument :comeon: Infact it actually hurt yours, since the one's opting to use the free service are obviously getting the bootlegged inferior end of the deal (PSN users)

If they weren't throwing y'all 2 year old free games and bootleg gta clones this wouldn't even be a conversation (They aren't even free because you have to Pay for playstation plus....so why you might pay for old games I pay for a superior online experience)
