It's funny you made this thread because I was thinking about this yesterday. I don't know where this whole 'strong woman' bullshyt came from but I'm going to assume it's the feminists who are keen on bending gender roles. Also, I think the absence of men in the black community have made black women the nurturer AND the protector, so they HAD to be strong.
However in a real family, it should be the mother = nurturer, and father = the protector
So with that said, no , no I don't want a strong woman. I want a soft nurturing woman, who will make sure the household is being nurtured, fed, and taking care of with a womans touch.
But you're saying how it should be. When you admit the REALITY is that black women HAVE to be strong, historically.

yea thats what Im saying, they were forced to be strong, but that doesnt mean its correct, it just displays how the community has evolved into warped gender roles due to the unfair lock up of black men, which have affected the community in various ways, this being one of them.
