Is it possible to make almost every wrestler a winner/ get them over?

I look at Apollo Crews, the Revival for example.

In nxt, both acts were super over....now on the main roster they are basically jobbers.

I personally don't think it has to be that way. They shouldn't lose every match to the point where crowds are basically indifferent to them now. Its hard to break a character out of that. The New Day were basically there as solo acts before that gimmick.

But guys like Duggan, Koko, Piper etc were super over in the 80s without even sniffing a title run. They were over bc they simply weren't relegated to being jobbers.

Maybe they need to bring back actual jobbers bc wasting great talent like Apollo, the Revival and others is just throwing money away.

Yes. It's all about commitment and creativity on management's part. In no particular order, the following have gotten over in WWE:

An arrogant heel in a kilt
A guy that brought a snake to the ring and is considered legendary despite never winning a single title
A clown as a credible heel, including against upper mid carders
A dude with a mannequin head
A Samoan in a thong
The smallest wrestler they had on the entire roster was their most over guy since Steve Austin

I could go on forever but you get the point. This is why I cringe when the 'anti-beards' on here try to juelz their way into explaining away why someone isn't actually over. The truth is Vince and most of his yes men are actually the biggest marks in the business, Vince himself being quoted as saying he'd rather lose money and attention from the product as long as his guys are the ones pushed :mjlol:He's basically a 6 year old kid living out his homoerotic fantasies with action figures, except it's the real thing

Sure, to an extent. There's always going to be degrees to it. Any show you can think of has characters that are super popular (whether that's for being loved or hated), ones that are "over" with certain segments of the fanbase, and ones the audience doesn't care too much about at all.

The problem with WWE now is that far too much of their talent falls into the latter two categories and they don't really do much to correct it.

Not everyone can win but most should at least be in engaging storylines.

If all they do is just wrestle, then their W/L record will matter much more than it should and won’t get over for being losers.

I actually think it would be rather easy to get Apollo Crews over. He started to get over a little when he almost got into the elimination chamber. Given that he’s barely had any storylines since 2016 to make him seem like a loser, there’s a clean slate to create a new narrative with him if they ever wanted

Not everyone can be a winner but everyone can be over. Look at Lucha Underground. There are maybe three genuine jobbers in the promotion and everyone else is a star.

The Mack and Killshot were stable flunkies for Big Ryck when they debuted and are now huge singles stars, all through good booking and giving their feuds meaning.

Nxt is a unique environment

Very hard to say the success will transfer over due to this

Look at Revival and then look at Elias, Elias had no momentum on nxt and now on Raw hes a breakout act

People saying anyone can be over is foolish

Its more than just getting Ws, wrestler needs to connect with the crowd

Look at Roman, is he over? Id say thats debatable and he wins all the time

Not all winners but in a sense everybody could be over if WWE really wanted that.

People saying it’s not possible must be forgetting how the whole damn roster was over in 98, 99 and 00.

With the women’s evolution going on right now though WWE cares so little about lower midcarders like Apollo and Ascension, especially with the women being bankable merch sellers.

The thing is we remember the best shyt from the past, so we tend to feel like all the music in the past was good or all the wrestlers were over.

What's actually going on is that only the best shyt is what gets commemorated and remembered and you forget about all the shyt music and forgettable wrasslers.

So... WWE is fukking up and they could make a lot more people get over but I don't think that means everyone or most can be a winner. They can do way better than what they're doing now though.

Yeah, but not in WWE.

This......

Lucha Underground is currently the best and most recent example of how to do it or how it’s done.

For shows to that crowd, 98% of their roster gets a pop or reaction during matches
