Is it ok for old rappers to reinvent themselves to appeal to kids?

Now, obviously, you have some old rappers who either are 1 hit wonders. Or had a great career and now make money through their old stuff (i.e. old school tours). Then you have others who try reinvent themselves and rap over today beats, reinvent themselves. What is your take on it? Should they just quit? Do you buy old rappers albums who reinvent themselves? Or should they stay with what made them successful though their numbers might be small?

as long as its not forced and gimmicky. Can't be 40+ and while wearing trendy skinny jeans and tight shirts, talking about you having "swag."
