Not so much about the subforum but IRL higher learner usually means rigidity of thought and a fixed point of view due to the immense amount of "Learn, Regurgitate, Test, Here is your identity based on what we grade of your performance. Repeat" loops they've been through. Might as well call school Daddy.

Its why revolutionary ideas in all academic fields are so strongly opposed by the tenured as they are no longer open to learning and simply wish to defend the intellectual fort they long ago stashed their inner child in.

There was such a stark contrast in quality of schooling between states, I realized this as I was moving from state to state. Even as a kid, I was bothered to see the difference in quality at times. Sure, it's fine if you only plan to compete within your state, or as local as possible but the average person will be almost noncompetitive out of state. And we see many low-cost states mass developing cheap housing near cities with employers, looking to entice college grads that intend to save money out of school.

The one who spam-bumped the thread is a perfect example. He's one of those "both sides" posters who doesn't believe white supremacy is a big deal and is angry at other posters for holding values other than "free speech absolutist". You can see why he would have problems with HL. The worst part is that 90% of the time he can't come up with a response other than emotional drivel, whenever he actually tries to participate in an argument (outside of how much he hates black women) he gets embarrassed.
