Is it just me or is loading plates on the barbell more taxing than the actual workout?

look, if you leave omen 45lb plate on each side, that's fine because I'm gonna add to those 45s, real talk. but don't leave 3 on each side or some strange combo of a 35lb, 25lb, 10 and 5lb plate on (with the clips on too) and then a motherfukka gotta re-rack those shyts AND wipe down the bench as well from your sweaty ass.

Maybe it's just a mental thing cause it's so mundane.
Not really. But, the first gym I went to, they had one pair of 100 lbs. plates. Hardly anyone touched them. The thing that bothered me about them was if you dropped it, that's 100 pounds of pressure on one square inch. It was much easier to move four 45 lbs. plates and two 10 lbs. plates.

one thing that pisses me off more than people leaving weights on machines is people who leave weights on the floor. fukkin inconsiderate pieces of shyt. if someone trips over that shyt while carrying something, that can potentially be real bad. if i was a manager at a gym, i'd strait up kick people out over that shyt

People not racking weights is so common at my gym it's not even a big deal any more.

But ironically people are polite and courteous in every other way but that one.
Yeah, thats how it is at my gym. Damn near every time I go to use the leg press machine I gotta take off 4-10 plates. I don't even trip anymore, shyts expected.

85% of the time if I took something off the rack I'll put it back. If I had to walk half way to the other side of the gym to get that shyt i'm leaving it where ever it lands when I drop it :yeshrug:

I dont think ive ever seen someone not do it.
Maybe because its so small.

I think that's dangerous too, if you leave an elevated squat rack loaded, with 2+ plates. Some unsuspecting noob could easily hurt themselves trying to clear out one side of the rack at a time...
i almost saw this happen the other day. cuz a broad wasnt paying attention. 2 homies were spotting each other at the squat rack, both were doing like 3+ plates. they leave to get some water real quick. broad comes over and starts taking plates off, but just on one side. dudes ran over before a disaster happened
