Im so glad this isn't an issue at my gym now. For the most part people keep it pretty damn clean. Would have to be a real ass not to... all the racks are right where you need them and it's easy to get around. I do get in during off hours though, mite be bad during the rush. Some people in my gym find it too taxing to put dumbells that they were able to lift off the rack and presumbly do set after set with back on the rack. And it normally is young guys in groups who do this, who crowd around one bench ,, and they act all offended when you ask them to put them away,'not my job to tidy your shyt away lads '. I once had a stand up row with someone who actually left the gym ,never to return because he didn't think he ought to have respect for other members who don't want to have to search around the gym for a certain dumbell. Because of course they will come to me and moan in the morning, that there are dumbells and safety collars 'missing'.
This had me . That visual. I feel sorry for the maintenance guys cuz dudes be getting in everybody's way when they vacuum. I know they gotta vacuum sometime during the day, so I'm not mad at them.
I saw the fitness manager at my nj location embarrass this 50ish dude this weekend. The older guy loaded up 8 plates on each side of the leg press, did 2 sets of like 5 half reps while grunting out near hernia pushes. Then walked away to head into the locker room w all the weight still on the machine. The maintenance guy that cleans up the weights looked like he was going to cry. The manager calmly walked into the locker room and came back out w the older guy talking to him all slowly and condescending like a child. Seemed to take a lot longer for the guy to unload all the plates than it did to load them. Could be all the bs he was mumbling under his breath the whole time. I may not be friendly and chatty and all social w everyone at the gym. I'm sure most people there think I'm an @sshole. I just keep to myself. But I always always always clean my shyt up when I'm done. That's like the one golden rule when you work out in a common gym.
I think that's dangerous too, if you leave an elevated squat rack loaded, with 2+ plates. Some unsuspecting noob could easily hurt themselves trying to clear out one side of the rack at a time...thats why i only load up to a certain limit. i hate those bytch ass homos that load up 40 plates on the leg press or the squat and then just leave it. I'm usually pretty good about re racking my weights because I know how much of a pain it is when people don't.
moral of the story: RE-RACK YOUR shyt
