Is it fair to say Alridge in San Antonio has been a Flop so far?

Spurs are on pace for their best record in franchise history :francis:. No he's not a flop. I'd be slightly worried tho with these GS and Cle losses

They beat Cleveland last week at home, they didn't have Duncan tonight

And the GSW game was on the road though it was terrible. I'd say its an aberration.

My issue with Aldridge is his shot selection

Yes, he's a good midrange shooter but he often traps himself into just taking those shots. He has the ability to put the ball on the floor and take it to the rim or use his post moves to get easier buckets.

Defensively, he has been impressive this year as a whole to me. I did not expect him to buy in this quickly to Pop's system.

I think people on this site are expecting him to play like he did vs. the Rockets in the playoffs and score 40 and grab 15 every night

Flop, how? You knew he wouldn't put up his 23 and 12 in SA. It's a system that they prioritize, not a player. He will finish the year averaging 17 and 10. In Portland, he had no reason to sacrifice his PPG and shots. Dudes complain about shot selection, but he's still shooting the ball at 49%. Only plays 29 MPG....Shame on you all.

I think its fair. He was arguably a top 5 player in the league in portland

he doesn't even deserve to be an all-star this year

Never was. Aldridge was underrated up to ~2010 but when Lillard burst out and people started watching the team, he started getting a lot of credit. He's good but he's barely All Star level for large parts of the season.

He's been good. Not a flop by any means but he probably could have played a little bit better for them. But I wont hold going to a new team and a new system against him.

If LaMarcus stopped falling in love with midrange shots, he's be shooting over 50% from the field, shyt he's shooting 49% now. Let's be real he's gonna be way more important in the playoffs.

It's like if the Spurs has traded Tony Parker for Damien Lillard. ...

DL is a better player but his style wouldn't fit in the Spurs.. Like I said pop saw he needed athleticism to compete with GS... but L.A is not a system player... he needs iso to thrive..and he not going to be cutting to the basket like day a Borris Diaw would...and this is how the Spurs operate

:martin:
They have 2nd best record in the NBA...

2015-16 San Antonio Spurs - m.bkref.com

Look at this weak ads schedule..
-
None against OKC

-One win barely vs the Clip and the clips were still rotating in Josh Smith (a cancer ) and Stephenson

-one win barely against Cavs under Blatt

-Wins vesus Memphis when Memphis had a losing record and was playing like shyt

They haven't played anybody. .. there real test will come in April when they are basically playing all playoff caliber teams for a month straight. .. when its all said and done OKC win have # 2 seed in the west ... trust me on this

LA is having a good year and his team is at 2nd place despite Duncan putting up Hakeem in a Raptors jersey stats.

The Spurs lost 2 of their last 15 so why y'all nikkaz thinking they hurting? They clear improved when replacing Tiago Splitter with LA. The Spurs had a weak first 3 months schedule last year too
