Maybe it's a generational thing but I only hear about ak on the internet.

I actually hear desus and mero get talked about in the real world for being two funny dudes. The chick I'm currently with is a fan and will throw thier shyt on every weekend night after a night of drinking.

A lot of content creators on youtube are getting patreons now because the youtube money is slowing up. You have to put out super safe inoffensive stuff to not risk getting demonetized.

Exactly, and having familiarized myself with AK's work, I'm not confident too many Fortune-50 brands would want to run preroll-video ads against his YouTube content.

Having said that, Twitch patrons are an innovative lane to tap into.
