Carlitos Way , more fluid / better story wise crime drama , Pacino played a more convincing character

Carlito's Way is a classic movie. Scarface was a more ICONIC performance. But Carlito's Way was the better story.

There is no real need to have one better than the other, esp. given how different they are.

I watched both recently and while Scarface is an enjoyable over the top movie, the idea of Carlito not being able to escape the streets no matter how hard he tried made for a better story in my opinion.

What y'all think?
Carilto’s Way is a better movie to me.

I still like Scarface though. I know it’s over-the-top and silly at times but it’s entertaining. Pacino cracks me up in it.

Both classics....Al Pacino really that guy. He has like 8-9 certified classics on his own :wow:

I used to think the same thing until maybe a couple of years ago. I was one of the ones that thought Scarface was overrated but after watching it within the past couple of years I had to admit it's probably one of the most entertaining movies ever made even if the accent is shyt. Carlito's Way is excellent but not as entertaining, probably a better story but doesn't have the replay value that Scarface does.
