Racist shyt aside. Dude was responsible for two wrestling booms in two different decades, and basically had two primes 1985-1993, 1996-1999. Single handedly made WCW a household name. I mean that's hard to argue. So do you think he is or is it somebody else?

yup

Nobody comes close.

Cena might be a safe number 2 due to longevity but even he hasnt seemed like the man last cpl years. Hogans lowest point in wwe was wm 9... and he won the title lol.

11 wms as either main or semi main. And with no etra bullshyt like “well they didnt push him boah blah”. He took those spots. Deserved em. Will never be matched again most likely.

Flair and macho right after.

Culturally maybe even if he wasnt as good at is actual craft as they were at theirs

Then again, half of wrestling is getting over with the crowd

I think Ric Flair might be the MJ even though Hogan was objectively bigger globally and in the northeast, but Ric had the South

Yea, his peak was matched by Austin and Rock, but the length of his run at that level was three times those guys. If Rock stuck around he might've had that same kind of run, we'll just never know. Flair was nowhere close as a draw/pop culture icon.

How the fukk can he be the GOAT if he stole his entire gimmick from Superstar Billy Graham :mjlol:

He's not a "wrestler" he's a fukking cartoon character marketed toward children to bring in more $ after the business got exposed and people over the age of 12 stopped caring about it.

Not to sound like Jim Cornette, but if you think Hulk Hogan is wrestling, you don't know wrestling.

Atomic leg drop, foh :camby:

wresling's weird because t here are a bunch of different ways to judge impact.

pop culture icon and household name?
in ring worker?
ppv buys/tshirts shold?
crowd pops?
peak popularity vs longevity?

Only one he's definitive #1 is the first. Everything else is up for debate.

No he's Magic Johnson he saved the business and took it to new heights

Bret/HBK are the Bad Boy Pistons their New Generation run is really underappreciated

Austin/Rock can clame to be the MJ of the business they really took it to the stratosphere
