Is hip-hop really hood music?

after viewing some of the classic hip-hop pics, got me thinking is hip-hop really hood music?

obviously a lot of hip-hop/artist glorify street/hood/everydaylife...

Is there anyone who did not come from a perceived hood, who made it in hip-hop?

Wasn't a shot at you just some of these posters that doing nothing but talk about how hood a rapper is or isn't when they've lived in the suburbs there whole life and only know about the hood through rap.
The few posters on here that are known to be from the hood rarely seem to talk about rappers being fake and shyt
