I just be nodding like "damn that's crazy" and go on my day, but that doesn't stop co-workers from unloading all their gossipy bullshyt on me every day


because I have to work with these people everyday, telling them to fukk off doesn't seem like a viable option

I've noticed...the quieter you are, the more information comes your way. I work in an office setting and I am somewhat quiet (not standoffish though). I'll engage in small talk when the setting calls for it.

With that being said, since I don't talk about people, I do notice people come to me to speak about others. I just listen.

There is some truth to this.

Also, I'm the only male in all of the finance department. It's about 22 of us. Additional, which bodes in my favor is that I am one of 6 with their own office. Another benefit is that as the controller, I'm the #2 ranking person in this department with most believing will become #1 when the cfo retires next year, people tend to stay clear of me unless it's work related.

Work is typically peaceful for me.
