Goldberg atleast had the big payoff title victory before everything went to shyt after (Nash...)

Sting however...................that was a clean loss at Starrcade, lol. :snoop: HitGOAT with the save though :whew:
the thing I'll say with the Goldberg winning the title was there was no buildup since it was announced the previous THURSDAY on Thunder. it should have been built up to PPV.

Starrcade 98 should have been Sting vs Goldberg. but they killed sting post starrcade 97 and him being a bit player in the wolfpac was :gag:

It was huge a moment, if you were watching wrestling back then you know how big it was, I don't know about top 5 tho.

This match should've never been given away on free tv. It was basically the last big time dream match they had left and they gave it away on tv just to pop a rating and beat Raw. In hindsight, I'm sure Bischoff would've rather they saved that match for a PPV where Hogan/Goldberg might've gotten a bigger buyrate than Sting/Hogan did at Starrcade '97.

One of the few times I was glad my prediction was way off. I remember telling my friends that the match was going to end by dq or something ...:smugfavre:. that Tuesday I was roasted all day too but it was still a top 10 moment for me.

Crazy how Hogan was already 15 years into his career at this point.
he was going into his 22nd year

23rd if you consider he traveled back and forth to Japan so much, he changed time zones so frequently that some of his years had more than 365 days in them :wow:

Luger did it better:yeshrug:

Nah. Luger ended up dropping the title right back to Hogan 5 days later at Road Wild. Goldberg kept the title for like 5 months and Hogan never got his win back from him and Goldberg's title win got a higher rating.

One of Bobby Heenan’s best nights as a color commentator. He didn’t want Hogan to lose he NEEDED Hogan to lose. Listen to the urgency when Goldberg went into the finishing sequence

Flair’s 92 Rumble is the only night I’d put above that one as far as Bobby on commentary. you can listen to the 92 Rumble without video and be entertained by Bobby’s total bias

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
That used to trip me out how the fans used to liter the ring with trash! :mjlol: Hopefully AEW fans restore the feeling! :wow:

I was at a WCW house show here in 1997, and a fan threw a cup at Hall and he told David Penzer to tell the fans to stop throwing shyt. Seconds later someone pelted Syxx in the head with a glass bottle. :damn: They left and Lex Luger had to come out and beg the crowd to stop. I was actually kind of pissed at my crowd because they almost ruined the main event.

Eddie/Malenko earlier in the night was fire. :blessed:
