It would have been if he defeated Buu with it. Unfortinately ssj3 got short changed and was like "Hi and bye", not any time to appreciate it and see him defeat the enemy with it. Even when they killed Buu, Goku was only ssj1 to push the spirit bomb.

The fact what when Goku went SSJ3 in the anime it was more of just a gimmick for him. And the fact that he hid it just to save vegeta's pride was kinda lame. I didn't like how it was introduced, it was more of a "look what I can do" thing when it should of been introduced the first time he was able to do it so we can see the struggle and determination to achieve it.

Idk, the story and the build up to the transformations is what makes them epic to me. SSJ3 didn't really have either.
