Would you guys consider giannis of the the elite top tier scorers in league history? For the past seven seasons the man has averaged no less than 26ppg per game along with good efficiency , he is one of the best finishers in history at the basket. This season he ranks first in scoring and has a very good chance to earn his first scoring title. I think he is very underrated as a scorer, meaning putting the ball in the hoop on a consistent efficient rate. Where do you guys have him rank all time as a PF? The only two clear guys i have above him all time are duncan and malone and if he wins a few more mvps and championships he can even be considered the best at his position. Thoughts? @murksiderock

A lot of Yall absolutely love making these disingenuous arguments lol

“He’s such a scorer!”

Watch a game and it’s a miracle he can make consecutive 14 ft jumpers

He does what he does and it’s effective but don’t try to sell me on some shyt that doesn’t apply especially when we’ve seen his lack of diversity stonewall him in the offs

He’s not Dirk, Dream, Duncan, Barkley or McHale as far as repertoire but obviously that hasn’t slowed him down

This reminds me of when nikkax discuss best scorers ever and you hear names like MJ, Durant, Kobe, Steph, McGrady etc. :lolbron:

Never heard anybody call bruh a great scorer. If anything everybody says he benefits off refs swallowing the whistle when he runs with the ball.

MVP and lead his team to a chip, almost single handedly. Only Duncan and Dirk has done that. Then you have mvp KG, Malone and Barkley. Is he better than any of them? Perhaps. I’d put him in the same league.

I mean it’s hard to really compare over time as usual. Old heads will say people from their era, new heads people from their era. Like bucks would not win in the Jordan era, and he would not be an mvp.

So like the good pastor ssempa of Uganda says. Bring me data, if you dont have data you have to keep quiet.

One of the least gifted great scorers ever, but he's probably the best player ever when it comes to the secondary fast break. When everyone is set, but the ball handler already has a running start. He's literally unstoppable in that scenario, but he doesn't really thrive anywhere else offensively.

Ppl will say all sorts of nonsense to try and discredit him, and he's the opposite of a "scorer" in terms of the way today's "have a bag" generation looks at things, but as far as puting a basketball through a ten foot high hoop in an NBA game, yes he is an all time great

Too early for him still in terms of placing him in any sort of all time numbered list (which are also nonsense)

This is facts the primary goal is to get points and score at an efficient rate and consistently, the fact that one shoots mid range jumpers shouldnt be any less equal to driving to the rim with a good finish, if not having a bag equates to average 26ppg over the previous seven seasons then and also leading the league in scoring this season thus far then that word is losing a lot its value.
In terms of ranking to me his already clearly top 5 already. I have duncan and malone ahead right now anyone else a strong case for giannis being better could be argue, he is better at scoring than Kevin garnett and is just as good defensively on the other end, all time talent
