Is Fifty being "competitive" with Jay and Puff or is it just jealousy and hatred?

Not one artist

Jay-Z influence is dead bro

Crazy sh*t is, we just had a talk about this at the shop.

It's wild to realize that Hov's influence is over. MC's might be influenced by what he did 20+ years ago. But the everyday people don’t follow his moves like they did in the late-90's early 2000's. There was a point where whatever dude said, became a thing. Now, people don’t even care.

If he was actively putting out music as he was then, people would care more, but he seems to be enjoying being a family man and playing the background. No matter who you are, it’s out of sight, out of mind, especially in this day and age where most are looking for instant gratification.

Other than Kendrick, I don’t think any other rapper has that level of influence nowadays.

Jay is a big reason Puma is back
Jay still got people wanting to drink like him
Wear the same watches as him
His music is still impactful & quoted
Rhude is poping because Jay was wearing it
Basquiat is synonymous with Jay now. Im sure Basquiat estate appreciate the promo
His influence is still popping lol

Its a fukking reason why he his talked about every single day by people who dont even like him. Its not every now and then its every day. All types of ages, races and genders.

I just remember when he was on BET like, "We're done with auto-tune. That's a wrap". Nobody cared, lol.

If he said that in like '99, people would've listened. But even by '09, his word didn't mean as much as it used to for the public. The influence fell off crazy. I think it's just a new generation who just doesn't f*ck with our GOAT's from back then. They just don’t care about what they say. It would need to come from a newer artist with more influence today. Like you said, someone like Kendrick.

I think he said that bts, Jigga has always talked badly about him to potential business partners, so he feels justified in going at them. At the same, theres enough bread to go round but nikkas always wanna be the hnic
What’s interesting is that theColi hates Jay Z so much that anything against him is law. You should all be happy he got added to the Diddy suit - yall been putting that into the universe for 20 years.

Both. Things with Puff have always been a little more personal, but Jay is who he's really 'competing' with.

50 was never really competiting with nikkas to be the greatest rapper, he was competing with hustlers. Most rappers think about overshadowing other artists, he was trying to eclipse Preme and them....Jay is the only rap nikka left cut from that cloth.

Jay being a better rapper is whatever, but him being a better hustler too? The game is still going at least in his miind. It's competition but it spills over into hate because Jay will barely acknowldge him.

Like he for real got half a bar.
There is the only real answer in the thread. But the question is, why do people believe it Jay who thinks he can be the only one on the block when he’s the one who has partnered with and empowered mad black people and 50 had alienated every black person he’s ever worked with?
