is fast and furious the only movie franchise that completely lost its roots?

It happens to any long running franchise. Watch Dr. No and then compare it to any Bond Movie that came after From Russia with love :yeshrug:
I was about to say this. Bond fought a goddamn space war including laser guns and shyt.:deadmanny:

This only happened a few movies after Bond inflated a black man to death. :russ:

Bond of course would move on from the space war by killing his archnemesis through the means of spearing his wheelchair with a helicopter and dumping him into a factory chimney.:deadrose:

If you’re using the same cast & characters, you can’t keep making the same movies forever :yeshrug:

It’d be like expecting a musician’s first album to sound like their seventh. They’re not gonna be making the same music cause they’re not in the place they were when they started. It’s growth.

When you get to album 7 usually an artist has become hot garbage and the fans are begging for that old stuff again. Prince didn't get that way till much later but he still found his way there eventually.

in the first fast and furious movie they was driving under semi trucks.

i dare you test the physics on that.
Bu..bu...DVD players!!!!!

Brian and Dom literally used car matrix to dodge a fukking train, just for dom to literally survive a head on collision with a Semi Truck

The change is funny but it had to be done, damn near 50 old dudes street racing is not wavey at all

Ya but 5o year old street racing 》 50 year old beating up henchman n driving cars off 90 story buildings n drifting into other buildings 100 feet away

Yall complain about this everytime a new one come out

:comeon:

The formula needed changing

Tokyo drift was by the books racing and the people didn’t support that shyt like they should have

People want to be entertained and they simply aren’t from pure racing. Only enthusiast are and that simply don’t get you 500+ Million dollars like the last movies have easily done

whether you consider it complaint-worthy or a necessity is irrelevant...the fact remains it completely switched gears unlike most any works in TV/film

Mad Men switched gears after the Don’s identity crisis was resolved, but not nearly as a dramatic change of footing as Fast & Furious.

Family Matters had a big shift when Urkel came through and crushed the buildings, but that happened so early that it’s not really the same.

The first 3 movies are the worst 3 of the franchise. That early 2000's "urban" shyt was corny at the time and is even cornier now. If they wouldve stuck to racing Civics Tokyo Drift would've been the end of it
