I remember when the Jason movies where about the spirit of a deformed neglected Kid that turned into an indestructible night time killing machine, armed with a knife and God tier Stamina.

I was going to say Friday the 13th. It went from a mother not being able to handle her son's death to a unstoppable zombie in space.

The Child's Play and Leprechaun movies also went pretty crazy but they were always a little bit silly.
