In the social media era a brand the size of Drake's is too big to fail because too many people are invested in it and it's too easy to keep it in constant rotation but that secret sauce gonna be looking shaky going forward

Kanye still making music.

Without definitive proof, Drake will be fine.

Ye had built up a lot of good will within both the hip hop community and black community in general before he crashed out his reputation.

Put it like this: we've seen the peak of Drake's career and we are on the decline now. Don't mean it's going to be a steep decline but it's a definite decline.

He can maybe rebrand as a pop act or actor in time but he's done-done in rap/hip-hop. This is beyond getting ethered. Even Jay looking at Drake like "you in uncharted waters now breh  "
:mjlol:
Ja Rule like damn breh
Kendrick caught a body

I wish I could see the 90s dudes opinions

I really wanna know what Ja Rule thinks

I got news for you bruh, the black community doesn't mean much when you are talking about mainstream audiences. Whether or not we support artists is irrellevent once they get to a certain status and Drake and Kendrick are beyond that status.

Drake, Kanye, Kendrick, Travis have predominantly white fanbases. Its been that way for YEARS

Disagree the black community has a lot of "soft power". Even after an r&b/hip-hop artist has blown up, if the black community stops fukking with them, it boxes them into a particular type of artist aka a Flo-rida type. Kendrick, Kanye, Travis all have predominately white fanbases but black folks still fukk with all of them even Kanye.

I can see that…

But I still think these artists are beyond boxing them into certain categories. Drake, Ye and Travis are practically their own genre at this point. Whether they have the support of the black community or not, they will do crazy numbers.

And to be honest is the black community even still messing with Kanye anymore? He went full pro-slavery, MAGA hat, Trump supporter on us and it was whatever. It wasn’t until he attacked Jews that he really got pressed.

Black people as a whole been stopped fukking with Kanye even before all that. Probably since Yeezus, Kanye hasn’t had a big black audience like that since the 2000’s.

This is exactly why beefing with metro is so dangerous. Metro can keep the other rappers beefing with Drake afloat while still being able to handicap Drake's career.

And given Metro's work with Sony, he's proven to be a machine in of himself that's capable of mega hits without Drake's involvement. Make no mistake, Drake's in trouble.

Metro and Drake aren’t in the same tier at all as far as revenue generation.

The cornball has one of the most delusional fanbases out there he will still do his typical trash that they'll eat up. But he'll always be known as the fraud that he is and took 2 of the biggest Ls in rap history that it will stick with him forever:myman:.
