hes been on top for like 15 years at this point, there are grown adults who have no musical memories of a time where drake wasnt the center of urban music so there is no scenario where drakes career ends and definitely not on some ja rule shyt.. nikkas barely last on top for 5 years let alone 15

that being said, he took a big hit and some damage and its possible his numbers drop a bit but not to the point of complete irrelevance and flopping, he had some of his biggest hits in the wake of pusha t bodying him but if kendrick continues to be relentless with releasing scathing disses while doing bigger numbers thats gonna be a horrible look for drakes perception as the numbers guy

Nobody's career is getting hurt but reputations are certainly on the line. There are some pretty big charges being thrown around right now. If one of the celeb chicks came out right now and accused Drake of inappropriate shyt when she was a minor? He loses the battle and wrecks his reputation. If Kendrick's girl comes out and confirms the domestic abuse charge, or if some type of evidence (label email, law enforcement, DHS leak, etc) is revealed? He loses the battles and wrecks his reputation.

But neither event would prevent them from filling up an arena on their next tour IMO. Neither gonna stop radio or Spotify from playing their shyt.

Nobody gives a shyt about anything long term. This might last another month or two max and nobody will care anymore
Drake survived everything no other rapper could ever go through and make it out successful:
Be a rapper from Canada
Act super corny in public
Get curved by the hottest women in the industry
Pretend to be gangsta despite being raised middle class by a white mom
Getting slapped by P. Diddy
Exposed for ghostwriting
Exposed for getting peed on by ATL nikkas
Getting a ugly white woman pregnant
Getting owned by rappers over 40
Having a c00nface floating on the internet
Expose for the liposuction and getting fake abs
Getting booed off stage in a festival that's mostly white
Having a leaked video of your DDL floating on the internet :dame:
Being stripped out of his N Word pass by a Foundational Black American

He'll be fine.

Drake is a corporation, a huge team of artists behind a machine that props Aubrey Graham to fame & acclaim.

Eventually there will be another artist that will have the backing of another conglomerate of artists & producers but at the moment there isn't any out there that's worth the investment.

TL:DR ... No for now.... unless his mansion gets raided & CP is found.
He's pushing 40, it's inevitable someone else will come along. Some of these Drake stans sound like 50 fans in 06 thinking he'd be on top forever

Yes, I wasn’t going to say so at first… but yes. He’ll still make records and be popular but he’ll likely have to switch…

It's taken half his career options away. This ain't the early 2000's where the streets and hip-hop were so close that the annihilation like this is going to kill his career entirely like Ja Rule.

You see, as someone who can sing and rap, Drake always plays both sides.

Folks call him soft, he starts rapping.
Women start saying he gets boring and repetitive, he comes back singing.

Look at his catalog and music history. That's the cycle.

Drake comes back next year with a One Dance or whatever and he's back.

It'll just look funny when he starts rapping hard again.
I think there's where this has taken the biggest impact.
Strict hip-hop and bars it'll be some time to get his reputation back there.
That's where Kendrick has done some serious damage.

However, if he keeps making R&B type of songs and cats want to hear him rap again, well, he's back even though folks will bring up these songs like the Pusha diss record.

All this to simple say, it comes down to the golden rule of show business:
End of the day, until a new fresh face can fill your lane your career isn't in jeopardy.

Nah. He's burned some bridges but corporations like Apple need artists that are as popular as Drake to continue to chart. They'll throw whatever money it takes to make sure their top artists do well because it's hard to create pop artists these days. Everything is more niche.

He also has millions and millions of white fans who don't like hip-hop.

Edit: If some pedo shyt is really out there and can be proven then yeah he done but that would be a TBD

No but it didn't effect Jay's career AT ALL, he was at the top of the rap food chain for a while after that and still considered a legend. He just lost the battle and will be forever been considered the loser in that beef. The same with Drake, he's going to be considered the loser in this but thats about it.

The point of this thread is...Is his CAREER in jeopardy.

The answer is a clear no, unless he gets into trouble with the law over this shyt. Im not sure why you are trying to argue this..... I'm genuinely confused what point you are trying to make.
Because you said this will be forgotten in 6 months

I guarantee you it won't, this will follow him for the rest of his career

It's not just Kendrick.
It was different before when it just Meek or Pusha. Now it's many other artists/producers.
And add to it Drake is nearing 20 years in the game.
He might be better off pulling a '4:44' than a 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.'

Fair point

I meant more-so that it won't be at the forefront of the news in a few months. Some people will always get jokes off on him on social media, but nobody will be consistently talking about this in the near future. These days people just don't care about shyt enough to stick with a narrative long term.
