This is the type of movie I miss most TBH: Medium-to-high budget action thillers w/ a mostly original story (ie not based off a comic book/book series/video game etc); Story may not make the most logical sense but choc full of entertaining fukkery :wow:

Netflix original movies are only now partially restoring the feeling, but nowadays everythings an existing franchise tentpole or damn near Indie status, no in between :francis:

Pair this w/ The Mummy and 13th Warrior, reach a dissosciative high and reminisce on the late 90s until u pass out :flabbynsick:

oh, I was going to mention The 13th Warrior, I saw that in theaters too, and I wasn't old enough to recognize the studio tossing it out in late August with Antonio Banderas as a Conan like figure was a bad sign. I remember it being ok though. Hilarious to see that mentioned.

Was one of the biggest flops ever.
John Mctieren had fallen off by then.

It was more Banderas chronicling the Vikings who were the actual protagonists of the story. It was based on Beowulf. Anyway I love that movie, shyt was dope.

Weren't there like creatures living in caves, like The Descent though? lol
A tribe of cannibalistic Neanderthals inspired by viking berserkers.

On a side note I guess you were right, john mctiernan's version got scrapped and was reshot entirely by Michael Chricton. It got the suicide squad treatment. Mctiernan's cut propped up more of the horror aspects and took on the name of the book "eaters of the dead". So in actuality it was never really a full john mctiernan film.
