Is Debarge the most ripped-off/sampled group ever?

El Debarge said that all of his tracks started with him playing around on the piano. Eventually he would turn bits and pieces into a whole piano piece. Then put vocals and possibly other instruments to it. El inspired me to start learning keyboard after its been sitting in there not used for 15 years. He's dope.

He had a lot of drug problems but I'm glad he's much better off than he was years ago. He was homeless for a while many years ago.

I know we all have personal responsibility to keep our own lives (financially especially) in order and I assume drugs/alcohol was part of it, but there's no reason for somebody who contributed so much to music and popular culture should have been homeless.

That seems like a lot. Now I'm curious to listen to these songs and check for the samples.

Right. Plus he had a big family so you would think someone would take him in. Who knows though because people on drugs normally burn bridges with every person that tries to take them in. Thats how they get kicked out and homeless.

Not too long. Only like 6 months. Believe it or not what really inspired me was this video here between 15:00 to 20:00 when he plays a quick sample of stay with me & dream. And hearing the ladies reaction might of helped too. :shaq:
