Is Claudio Castagnoli a unlucky Main Eventer or a Great Midcarder?

Well is he?

he's just a good wrestler, with zero mic skills and marketable ability and that's why WWE never pushed him higher than the mid-card level.

being a good wrestler alone doesn't draw real money. never has and never will.
This.
Claudio/Cesaro is the Manu Ginobili of wrestling. He's very talented, but he'll never sell a single ticket or t-shirt.

Mr Perfect was better in ring, character, promo etc than majority of all former WWE and WCW world champs :gucci:

Far as Cesaro, the fans woulda been down with him getting a run with the world title in WWE :ehh:

What trip me out is how he didn’t even get a run with the IC title and just got 1 US title run. Not even a NXT title run :dwillhuh:
He never saw Mr.Perfect

I guarantee he’s not older than 20

Gunther vs. Cesaro/Claudio is a WM level match. He should come back to the 'E just for that. Honestly he should come back to the 'E period. He will never be main eventer, but he could put some quality matches with the talent that has been brought forth.

And when Cena had called that out the IWC torched him and he was where right. They game him Heyman and he still couldn't get over that last step

Cmon man. Heyman with Cesaro, Axel, and Ryback was completely different than Heyman with Brock, Roman, or Punk because of how they were booked.

Was never great as a foreign heel which based on his accent and mic skills should’ve been his lane.

The guy can wrestle a good “stronger than my size” style but I feel like it’s always overblown. It’s not like he was getting other guys over and making talent look amazing. He’s good at what he does, can’t remember him making others look amazing (but I could be wrong :manny: I just can’t think of any)

My highest level of interest of him was “The Bar” two brutes punishing people. Modern day APA/Acolytes, good counter balance to New Day and Usos.

I don’t think it’s a travesty that he never won the big one in WWE. He fit in where he should’ve to me :yeshrug:

Claudio was born too late. He would've been a huge star as a top gaijin in 80's and 90's All Japan or New Japan. Would've been a dope heel in the WWWF too with one of their core managers as well.

Given the era he had to work, I think he's done what he should. He could've gotten a throwaway world title run during Cena's peak, maybe, but by that point he was just starting in get a rep in the indys.
