Take away the backdrop music, special effects and dark camera filters and what do you really have :mjpls:

Nothing but drivel on the screen.
Clearly trying to be provocative but I fully agree with the sentiment all the same that nolan's movies don't really have the amount of depth or substance his fans would have everyone believe

I used to be a big nolan stan...but none of his movies age very well...

And every since I got into writing I've come to notice how Nolan does some straight up amateur hour shyt in his movies...but i guess since he is a famous director he can get away with it...

The more I watch Intestellar the more I notice Nolan almost fukked it up...last 15 minutes of the movie was pointless...I watched that shyt like :upsetfavre:

I'm saying you might have to combine all their styles together into one person to get the equivalent of a stanley kubrick.
you can't make a combination without having ingredients already. Your statement by virtue implies there is something Kubrick lite that exists in tarantino's work as it is. Again I ask where?

:what:

Are we talking about the same director? The guy who made Memento? The Dark Knight? Inception?

I swear, a lot of this Nolan hate has to be an attempt to counteract all the fans he's got instead of an honest assessment of his movies. Nikkas who care more about standing out than whether they actually enjoy something.

I mean, who the fukk watches a Nolan movie for the background music, the special effects, or the camera filters? :mindblown:

Be for real :comeon:

Man its been hard for me to put Kubrick so high on the list of great directors because of his process of getting performances out of actors, the shyt was unethical and borderline :demonic: at times.
A genius yes, but his tactics make me lose a bit of respect for the end product, not matter how great they are. Im a filmmaker myself so maybe my opinion as a viewer is invalid:ld:
