Silly kids, lol. Any individual that thinks Chief Keef about to move units or bring Chicago's Hip-Hop scene some type of relevance (outside of what Lupe, Kanye, Twista has done) is an idiot. This dude would be lucky to post Waka Flocka "type" numbers. This "movement," if that's what you want to call it will be over this time next year just like the likes of Kreashawn, OWGKTA, and Lil' B. If Chicago Hip-Hop scene is gonna get any bigger, it definitely won't be from this shyt. This nikka had a song with a hot beat that was made bigger by Kanye. Interscope don't give a fukk about this kid or who's dying in Chicago, once his buzz die and that single not moving anymore units, he'll be back in the hood. Sad but reality.

Who's talking about sales? I'm talking about more artists being introduced from the city. How many records are these New West rappers in LA selling right now? Barely any. Yet people still listening to Jay Rock, Dom Kennedy, Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, Tyga & Nipsey. Keef putting the spotlight on the city right now. That's a good look for nikkas in Chicago.

Don't want to derail the thread but OFWG is still putting in work. One of there members just had a #1 album that will more than likely get some grammy love.

I'm glad you said that. Last time I checked, Keef and them don't have any grammy-level song writers in their group. And I was speaking buzz-wise with OFWG. Last year, nikkas was talking about them on every message board and everywhere else. Fast-forward a year later and that luster is gone. Outside of the grammy artist, of course.

Part of it is because they're no longer new. You don't have media introducing them to the world anymore.

They've had a few projects this year, a few more coming out, their tv show got renewed...

Dawg, those dudes can actually rap though and built a movement behind their talent. Keef and crew is just a bunch of kids with skills no better than Waka Flocka/Soulja Boy that happened to get a feature from one of the biggest artist in the game. You can't put your city on by acting reckless without a cause. BTW, what is these nikkas cause? Is it trappin' to get money? Political/fukk the police? The love for Hip-Hop? These nikkas just come across as some retards that shoot at each other over twitter beef.

How is these dudes a good look for Chicago actually?

nikkas applauding 2 chainz for 150 do the math early 2000 late 90's he would have did 500-600 record sales don't mean shyt popularity is based on twitter followers and YouTube views anybody can pack a club with people the nikkas packing stadiums are the ones who matter record sales wise

Open the door for more nikkas to come through. I remember the LEP boys talking about it. When Kanye & Common got on, they left & never came back. Moon & Count was saying their plan was stay & build something there.

Matterfact, I'll make it easy. How much were we talking about Chi-Town last year? Two years ago? Now look at the first page. And alot of it was before all the drama this week.

I hope you right, breh, I really hope you right, because I love to see nikkas getting money and becoming successful; but in my humble opinion, these nikkas movement is gonna hurt Chicago's Hip-Hop scene in the long-run more than helping it. But I guess we'll see though...
