When I say blow up, I mean LA (Snoop, Dre, Eazy, Ice Cube, Pac) in the early 90s, Philly (Beans, Cass, Freeway, Young Gunz) in the early 2000s, Atlanta (Too many to name) in the early & mid 2000s, Miami/Florida (Ross, Flo Rida, T Pain, Plies) in the mid 2000s, even St. Louis to an extent (Nelly & Lunatics, J-Kwon, Chingy). Multiple cats coming out a city. One rapper doesn't cut it. Yeezy hasn't put nobody on from Chicago, unless you count putting Lupe on a song :manny:

Don't be silly...Drake has also been one of the hottest rappers of the moment, but it's quite stupid to say Toronto has "blown up" because Drake is on the international map...

You get it now...
Ye, twista, lupe, and common were all moving units in the mid 2000's. Let's not rewrite history now.

Yea...but, yall never seemed like a hotbed for rap. Rappers never said :leon: its poppin in Chicago right now, let me fly over there & network like they would to Cali, New York, Miami or ATL. Ye & Common reinforced this shyt when they admitted they had to move from Chi-town to New York to get on instead of building their movement at home :heh: Then, none of them dudes put anybody else on. There's no equivalent of DipSet in Chicago, no equivalent of G-Unit in Chicago, no equivalent of Cash Money in Chicago.

I get the feeling like Keef & his boys gonna open the lane for the city because I dont see them leaving Chicago like Ye or Common did.

Silly kids, lol. Any individual that thinks Chief Keef about to move units or bring Chicago's Hip-Hop scene some type of relevance (outside of what Lupe, Kanye, Twista has done) is an idiot. This dude would be lucky to post Waka Flocka "type" numbers. This "movement," if that's what you want to call it will be over this time next year just like the likes of Kreashawn, OWGKTA, and Lil' B. If Chicago Hip-Hop scene is gonna get any bigger, it definitely won't be from this shyt. This nikka had a song with a hot beat that was made bigger by Kanye. Interscope don't give a fukk about this kid or who's dying in Chicago, once his buzz die and that single not moving anymore units, he'll be back in the hood. Sad but reality.

Don't want to derail the thread but OFWG is still putting in work. One of there members just had a #1 album that will more than likely get some grammy love.
