Is Canelo Really Good?

You think people are becoming fans of Canelo, because he "looks like a star"?

I disagree with this. It's not that people are becoming fans of him because of his looks, but his looks make it easier for certain people to get behind him.

Remember, boxing has always been a race/ethnic oriented sport. Because of his looks, it's easier to attract White folks, because when they look at him they see a White man. I remember when he fought Mayweather, he had plenty of White fans behind him trying to claim him and shyt. Similar to how Blacks were trying to claim Tito Trinidad back in the day. You can't tell me that Golden Boy doesn't know that, and have always tried to push him due to that.

Personally, I don't believe he'd be getting the push he has gotten if he looked like a "regular" Mexican

JCC Jr gets the same push from TR, well was, but he's not able to fight at the "big money division" 147-154 like Canelo was able to.

JCC Jr doesnt look white to me and Mexicans love the hell out of him.

If the OP would've said RACE, then I'd agree though which I pointed out in my statement of JCC Jr, Canelo, and JMM being 3 of the top 5 draws in the sport.....due to being Mexican and Mexicans are super loyal to their fellow countrymen.

White people ride for any race outside of black though in a Black vs "Other" matchup.

Nah, it's the work he's putting in and the fact that he's getting better everytime out.

He's only 24 and has already had 46 professional fights

And, in 3 of his last 4 fights he's fought the RING Champion at Junior Middleweight (Floyd), #2 RING ranked Junior Middleweight (Lara), and #3 RING ranked Junior Middleweight going 2-1 over those 3 fights.

Dude is the truth and is constantly improving his skills.
