He just doesn't do it for me. He has the image and I believe that is what got him over. Gotta check those PPV numbers.

His image?

He's definitely a good fighter, has improved every fight out, seeks out and wants to fight the best....what more do you want from him?

He just beat the "most avoided man" Erislandy Lara in a fight everyone said he wouldnt take. He's legit.

Yes, image. People do look like stars. Google Jermaine Dupri about discovering Kris Kross.

So, he looked better against Lara than against Mayweather? He looked the same to me. He has a padded resume, a cool nickname (Canelo) and an image. Canelo because his Irish grandfadda ended up in Mexico. :russ:

Image means nothing for real unless you're a female.

You think people are becoming fans of Canelo, because he "looks like a star"?

Nah, it's the work he's putting in and the fact that he's getting better everytime out.

He's only 24 and has already had 46 professional fights:wow:

And, in 3 of his last 4 fights he's fought the RING Champion at Junior Middleweight (Floyd), #2 RING ranked Junior Middleweight (Lara), and #3 RING ranked Junior Middleweight going 2-1 over those 3 fights.

Dude is the truth and is constantly improving his skills.

Yes he looked better against Lara than Mayweather.

He was destroying Lara's ribcage, whereas with Mayweather, he was hitting air. He was also much more aggressive against Lara, while with Floyd, he actually attempted to box him. He also gassed out against Mayweather while with Lara he never did.

It was obvious that he learned alot by fighting Mayweather and what he needed to do with fighters who "run" instead of fight....go their body, because the body doesnt move. Plus, he has increase his stamina when you look at how he hasnt gotten tired against Angulo/Lara as he did with Trout/Mayweather.

For the casual fans, dude. It is obvious you are genuine fan of his but business is business.

:obama: but "run" :mindblown: people piss me off with thinking ppl suppose to stand there and get hit it. The bold makes no sense. I think you mean the body is a bigger and easier target and slows an elusive boxer down. Doesn't move had me like :what: .

I guess breh, but any Mexican that's winning titles and fighting big-name opponents is gonna be a top level draw in the sport due to the Mexican fan base and their loyalty to their country (Juan Manuel Marquez and Julio Cesar Chavez are 2 of the top 5 draws in the sport of boxing today alongside Canelo Alvarez....of course they are all Mexicans)

Of course thats what i meant. Im just talking in boxing lingo to you breh.

Dont be a headhunter, because some people have excellent up top reflexes but their body is available for punishment. Exactly what Canelo did to Lara and that's a key element when you're fighting a fighter like him. A good example of that is what Paulie Malignaggi said he tried to do to my boy AB. He said it's hard as hell to hit him uptop, but the body work is always there, because it's a bigger target and easier for you to hit.

I think he looked the same, other than going to the bosy. I also thought he looked legit against mayweather :manny: I knew he had skills, after that fight.

I think against floyd he thought his punches to the arm would tire floyd out, which it did if u saw the postfights. He relied on that strategy and wouldn't abandon it.
