I don't really see it. The problem is that when someone is anti illegal immigration and BS asylum seekers they are made to sound like they are anti-immigrant.

the complete dishonesty of making that conflation is ruining any real chance for progress and dialogue.

outside of maybe a VERY VERY VERY small fringe group of ppl, the large majority of ppl are not anti immigrant at all.

and giving any attention to those tiny factions of ppl is just a complete waste of time.

Don't know what city you roll in, but Im in Toronto, and at least 20 guys I have loose associations with through other people, have tried to claim Proud Boys. Many also use terms like "Western Chauvinism" or that people must assimilate to some mythical Canadaian/American style of life. Whatever that means. A perfect example is the attemted arson of the hotel housing Syrian/African refugees, or the fact that hate crimes rose by 47% country wide in 2017. I'd bet almost any amount that 2018 was worse... I'm 37 and never seen it like this before. I'be had to fight more people since Trayvon who were so called "friends" then any other time in my life. And thats not even talking about the anti gay, xenophobic and anti-Semitic motherfukkers who are popping up all the time.

Mythical Canadian/American style of life?

You mean our culture, laws and values? nothing mythical about that and nothing wrong with expecting ppl that come to this country to try and assimilate in to our society. I wouldn't expect anything different if you or I were to go to another country either.

Over the last 10-15 years I've lived in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Florida, and have traveled to even more places. I rarely have seen any bullshyt or nonsense. Also, most of those "hate crimes" were graffiti and vandalism. (Hate crimes in Canada rose by 47 per cent last year: Statscan). Not trying to discount those "crimes" at all, but them being lumped in with all hate crimes really skews the message being put out.

Outside of ppl on the internet, I have rarely seen anyone popping off like that. so ignoring the online trolls and the small fringe groups of loud mouth weirdos, I don't see many ppl popping off like that.

Most Canadians are NOT against immigration at all. and at the same time most Canadians ARE against illegal immigration. so I don't really see what the problem is.

WTF is our culture and values? shytting on natives? Eating maple syrup? Playing hockey? Building igloos or tee'pees? This is a country of immigrants. Without legal and illegal immigrants we'd be a country of snow and moose. fukk off with that white supremacy bs, and refer to the charter or rights

Equality Right before and under the law, equal protection and benefit of the law without discrimination and ,in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability

jesus christ how arrogant AND ignorant can you be at the same time?

first it's "wtf is our culture and values" ? then you come back with "refer to the charter of rights"

do you not fukking see that the charter of fukking rights is part of our culture and values?

and you can dead that white supremacy bullshyt, that has nothing to do with it. This country was built by all immigrants white and non white, and built it to what it is. The fact that you can't see a distinct culture and value system in our society only shows your ignorance and blatant tendency for pushing bullshyt. (or just blindly following whatever narrative your peddlers have pushed you).

that fukkin LAW that you quote, the one where "equality for all" exists is part of our fukkin culture and values. stop being so fukkin obtuse you dimwit, and don't try talking slick at me again.

not everything boils down to this white supremacy tag you lazy fukks like to throw around without thinking.

The question thread is awkward: do you consider Canada immigration-friendly at first sight? Personally I don't, they have the strictest immigration laws beside Australia. Sure, their communication tells otherwise: diversity, multiculturalism etc. but beneath the reality is different.

To answer the question: it depends which type of immigration. Right now they have one of the most educated and rich immigrants in the West. But if they start having the immigration situation of continental Europe they will for sure go far right. They are just not mentally ready and too much in their comfort zone.
