So many layers to this movie and it never gets old

every time i watch it it's like i'm watching it for the very first time again because there's always something new i realized or recognized

phenomenal acting, screenwriting and directing

the movie is 3 hours long and every hour is so intriguing it never feels like an hour has gone by

Always wondered if he ended up calling in that air strike later on :jbhmm:

Coppola said that he wanted Willard to throw away his weapons and have the followers throw their weapons as well and turn a new leaf. He said having Willard call the air strike would seem wrong with the theme he (Coppola) was trying to express

Here's the link

2:57 mark is where he talks about it

Because this was the ending they used to show on TV, and because TV was where I first saw it, this was the ending I remembered.

Inspired by Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.

It's not my favorite movie but it's a masterpiece for sure. I don't know man. There are so many amazing movies that came out in the 1970s.
The wild thing is, you could make a documentary about the making of the movie...and that would probably also be amazing in itself.
