I guess "industry plant" is the new "Illuminati"... something that's caught on via message boards and now anyone successful gotta be one.

If 2Chainz is an industry plant, then the industry did a terrible fukkin' job. They planted this nikka in Ludacris' crew 12 years ago, had him and his homie score one hit in 2007, then had him go back into relative obscurity, drop a couple mixtapes, get featured on some songs, and at age 36 finally achieve a fanbase. Yeah, that's a plant. Sure.

What the fukk is an industry plant? If it was so easy for labels to create stars why don't they create stars every week?

2 Chainz is on everyones shyt cause he's poppin, same with French Montana.
These are the 2 dudes that are popping right now, since this whole cross-state thing started some time in the 2000s with the mixtapes, internet and all that and basically blowing up before your debut album people have been fukking with people.

As far as this industry plant goes, It could be discussed that 2Chainz was signed to Def Jam all along and only switched his group deal into a solo deal.

What would be the goal of an industry plant? Serious question. You better not be on no Illuminati shyt tho :usure:

Depends
Drake is an industry plant but he's a different animal

For 2chainz I don't know
Perhaps setting a certain creative direction

one thing about hip hop's future is this
I agree 80% with what Mos Def said in the intro of black on both sides
He said "People ask me where's hip hop gonna be in 20yrs? People think that hip hop is this giant monster in the mountain or something, Hip Hop will go wherever the people go"

This is true, however it's also true that if TV and radio pushes certain content down your throat enough you will end up enjoying it more than other forms of content that get less airplay

An industry plant is someone who paves the road for where the people, as mos def says, will go

For example, more violence, more black on black crimes
more drugs, more pre-martial youth pregancies

glamorizing all that nastiness

.

You cannot manufacture artists in that quantity

It's like saying let's send a thousand spies into Iran instead of one guy inflatrating

what would be more effective?
