Didn't watch the clip in OP (laziness on my part...)

Of all cities, why Baltimore? Does this have anything to do with the TV show The Wire being filmed there?

I always wondered how the street politics worked out filming an HBO show in a legit Baltimore hood. Did David Simon check in?

Always wondered how The Wire staff, random production ppl, actors, etc interacted with the locals in Baltimore..
Same reason white people can move across the street from the projects and never be touched

This pic made me think of a random experience I had last weekend. Born and raised in NYC and finally made it out to Roosevelt Island for the 1st time with my boys on some local, touristy type vibe. We make it to a basketball court and I'm :ohhh:by how many Black people are out there. It wasn't until we were leaving that I realized how close QB is to Roosevelt Island. Literally walking distance. It all made sense at that point.

The GOAT is too smart to go out like that.

Yo Yo
I know you hate to hear the drama but drama's all we know
We laugh with the rich cats when they leave we switch back
Somebody asked yo how he get that with his bytch ass
Comin' through on the humble just to chit chat
He used to be down on the corner with us
He was born with nikkas but know he's on to mad figgas
With mad bytches a sharp dresser
Cool nikka but about to be called out
By the heart testers never known for bustin his chrome
Wasn't soft but wasn't respected till he was grown
School he graduated somebody you could say had made it
While we stayed in the projects walking the pavement
Everybody has their ups and downs
But this one kid had stayed rich while we slang the grave shifts
"I'm tired of it!" said a cat whose name I'mma leave anonymous
Cuz he might take it as some kind of dis
Anyway he saw him driving up inside the projects
Tried to stick him but he got bodied in the process
The victor had become the victim
Thought he had a smooth nikka caught but a smooth nikka licked him

that last line :dame:

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
nah, he thinks he's dee and wah. it's common knowledge now, but dee and wah used to move around in baltimore. they got love down there. dmx too, cause he'd be with them.

it's why x shouted out b-more on get at me dog.

i also remember reading a story about x performing on top of a bus or car or some shyt down there, right when he blew up. impromptu. MIGHT have the location wrong, but i'll never forget the story. mad people started shooting, the reporter wanted to take off, and x was telling them "we good. they LOVE me." turns out they were shooting in the air cause he had them that turnt up.
X lived in B More for a little bit.

Why is Irv in his 50s still trying hard to be hood and focusing on hood shyt

He the same person he was 30 years ago does he never grow up? It’s 2023 nobody cares

Nikkas like him really gonna be in their 70s and 80s sagging with timbalands on the block talking about back in the days

Man it’s crazy how strong that drive towards the streets is.

A millionaire with a bus, houses, cars and the whole 9 still feels an urge so strong it could get him killed to go and impress the hood. Why the hell was PnP Rock at that Roscoes in a Bentley?

I think it was Melle Mel in one of his rare moments of clarity who went on Math Hoffa and talked about how backwards it is. The nikka on the corner who has nothing is the one dictating who’s a bum and who’s real.

Hip Hop Is Dead was a damn near flawless album. They padded it with a few tracks that weren't even necessary, unfortunately. Still very solid. Not Going Back is one of my favorites. Blunt Ashes. Let There Be Light
That album is special to me. It came out when I decided to end my struggle era.

The vibes on Money Over Bullshyt, HHID, Not Going Back, and Still Dreaming were exactly what I was feeling at the time. Disgust, wanting to make it, fed up with the bullshyt, and done with the struggle life. A year later I enlisted in the Navy and turned my life around.

Shout out to the GOAT

Just saw the video, it’s way worse then I thought.

Old ass man thinking that’s still cool, u would think he would have wised up and realized how stupid that would have been but he still thinks that they missed out on that moment smh.
