Like others have said if you really want to crack down on illegal immigration, go after the corporations who employ them.

But getting a tax ID and then paying federal, state, local, social security, FICA and Medicare taxes isn’t a bad thing. It’s those fostering this that is.

Honestly, the elephant in the room is that we need as many people paying into social security as possible. Of course we can also raise the ceiling on the social security tax (which I'm all for as well). These types of conversations always end up being consumed by emotionally charged arguments. These guys are enraged at the foreign people working in McDonald's paying taxes. Those are the immigrants paying into social security without the benefit of receiving social security themselves.

I’m confused, how can you be undocumented and file taxes?

I think undocumented citizens get a special number to file taxes ITIN

An ITIN, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, is a tax processing number only available for certain nonresident and resident aliens, their spouses, and dependents who cannot get a Social Security Number (SSN).

This shyt is so dramatic. It is not a betrayal. People know if they are in the country legally or not. Being in the country illegally is a crime. It doesn't matter whether they catch you at the border today or 30 years later in Boston. Being in the country illegally is still a crime.

i don't give a fukk about illegals coming here, they're welcome to do so. and i don't care if they get deported either. the era of democrats shaming people about this is over. nobody cares

Being an undocumented immigrant, or "illegal alien" as it's sometimes called, is not a crime under federal law, but there are specific actions related to immigration status that can be criminal offenses.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

Undocumented presence is a civil matter, not a crime:
Being in the United States without proper documentation is a civil violation, not a criminal one. The penalty for this is typically deportation or removal, which the Supreme Court has determined is not criminal punishment.

Specific actions can be criminal:
However, certain actions related to immigration status can be criminal. For example, entering or re-entering the United States after being deported or removed is a felony punishable by up to two years in prison.

8 U.S.C. § 1325 and 1326:
These sections of the U.S. Code address criminal offenses related to immigration, including unlawful entry and re-entry.

8 U.S.C. § 1325: Makes it a crime to unlawfully enter the United States, such as entering between ports of entry or making false statements while entering.

8 U.S.C. § 1326: Makes it a crime to unlawfully re-enter the United States after being deported or removed.

Criminal Alien Program (CAP):
ICE has a program that focuses on identifying, arresting, and removing aliens with criminal records who pose a threat to public safety.
Undocumented immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than the general population:
Studies show that undocumented immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than the U.S.-born population and other immigrant groups.

Reagan style amnesty and then closing the bottlenecks in the system is the answer.

The nuance isn’t necessary. These people are being deported. I’d rather that than them being jailed indefinitely while waiting for hearings.

Americans destroy these people countries with wars tarrifs sanctions, cia influence drug wars like the good white supremacist nation we're then give them zero ability to become legal citizens. I'm fine with them paying taxes we don't have enough workers in our workforce anyway.
