Introduce Me to 'X' Artist Series

So fellas, I've been thinking about where next to go with my endeavours on The Coli and the following struck me - namely that we often dismiss artists because of hearsay and we don't give artists a chance either because of being old school or new school elitists or regional affiliations or what have you. Or maybe....you just haven't been able to explore an artist for one reason or another.

Hence this thread.

What I'm proposing is an entire Coli Booth effort. I'm still trying to figure out how to compile all the information but I'ma put this idea out there and see how y'all feel about it.

There will be ONE page with a list of all the artists in alphabetical order. When you click on their name, you will be taken to a link (a thread) which has been written by any Coli member on that artist.

Let's say that I've never listened to Das EFX before and I wanna get into their discog. I click on the Das EFX link and someone (ideally an expert or knowledgeable dude on Das EFX) has written a fairly comprehensive page on how to get into their albums, songs etc., some background info about the artist etc.

I think if we all get on this, we can have a really fruitful page and the more enticing the information is, the more it will encourage people to give artists a chance and expand our collective knowledge.

If y'all are DOWN with this idea, let it be known in this thread and I'll work out the logistics for getting it started and donating responsibilities to various people. Don't worry tho, this isn't gonna be much effort on anyone's part unless they want to put the effort in. You could only write about one artist if you want.

Yeah, a few artists could potentially do, K-Rino, Brother Ali, maybe even find a way to merge a few contributors efforts together, will check the thread and see why you have in mind, sounds like a dope idea though and could be effective in several ways.

I would stick to one writer per artist but if there are multiple people fighting for one artist either they agree upon themselves or we decide amongst them who does it

but for example I think it's universally accepted that you're the guy for K-Rino, know what I mean?

That's a good idea actually, makes sense, yeah I'd happily do K-Rino's contribution.

Btw brehs if this series does come to fruition, what will happen is that y'all will PM me your given artists' page and if approved I will ask y'all to put it in a thread whereby it is accessible to everyone

and then on the primary page which will be made soon, the artists name can be clicked on and it will take someone to that aforementioned thread

Although I think there may already be threads that fit the bill. Some of my Mobb threads would be good for Mobb Deep. @CleinB made a great thread on 36 Mafia.
It could be more than just artists too, like I've got a thread on Source bias. So maybe we could do events/subjects. :psalute:
