Into the Badlands: Second Season Renewal for AMC TV Series?

AMC hasn’t made it official yet but actor Daniel Wu says that Into the Badlands has been renewed for a second season.

A martial arts drama, Into the Badlands takes place centuries into the future in a feudal society called the Badlands. Seven rival Barons control access to the Badlands’ essential resources and each one maintains an army of enforcers to protect their interests. In the middle of it, a warrior and a boy travel together as they seek enlightenment. The cast includes Wu, Marton Csokas, Orla Brady, Sarah Bolger, Aramis Knight, Emily Beecham, Oliver Stark, Madeleine Mantock, and Alexia Ioannides.

The series debuted last month to a 3.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.39 million viewers. The ratings have come down quite a bit since then but it remains one of AMC’s highest-rated shows.

On his Facebook page, Wu posted “Into The Badlands has been renewed for a second season. So fans, please continue to support the show as well as you have. Things like voting on IMDB help a lot, so thanks fans!”

Update: The actor has since deleted the post and his page has recanted the announcement but it seems very likely that Into the Badlands will be renewed for a second season at some point.

AMC doesn't have any shows that doesn't involve zombies or Breaking Bad. They neeed show, can't eat off of TWD forever, can't air shows solely on Sundays either.
