I thought it was too obvious to bring him back, but I was listening to a pod yesterday from someone who covers the Braves and he said it kinda doesn't make sense to commit so much money to a 1B on the wrong side of 30 for $35 mil a year, especially since you've gotten everything you could ask for out of him already for a relatively low price.
I still think he comes back just because he deserves to be a Braves lifer, but he referenced how St. Louis didn't pay Pujols and it didn't affect them the way people thought it would. Nats let Rendon go and they didn't get burned by that either.
