The saddest part is that outside of that one Resident Evil film, nobody adapted the groundbreaking 3D camera technology, they just slapped 3D on everything in post-production for the quick bag. Even Endgame which is the biggest event film in a decade uses post-conversion that produces notable ghosting issues in final scenes of the film.

I've seen people say that Life Is Pi is the only other film to use 3D as anything more than a gimmick but I've still never seen it

I forgot about Life Of Pi. Hugo perhaps too, not sure if that was post-conversion or not but definitely great use of 3D.

AVATAR WAS HUGE DURING ITS THEATRE RUN

U HAD TO BE AROUND BACK THEN TO REMEMBER
I also don’t remember one single thing about it other than it made people kill themselves

I literally forgot the plot

I liked the movie. Didn’t think the story was anything groundbreaking but the digital effects were stunning, and definitely made a lot of what we see now possible.

White people don't like it because it's a allegorical tale for how europeans colonized and enslaved black & indigenous peoples, took our resources and created trillion dollar multinational corporations off our backs. The 3D graphics & cinematography was enough to distract them the first few watches but after the novelty wore off, the message was loud & clear
Yep and that was a ballsy movie to make in that era. Kind of like V for Vendetta during “turrism” and 9/11 fallout

Avatar was the Star Wars of the 00s, even if you didn’t like movies you had to go see what the hype was about.

I’m 36, the only other movies I’ve seen make that type of impact are Titanic and Jurassic Park

The climax, battle scene was dope. :manny:

He did admit that the story was weak and hired multiple writers for the sequels. So at least he acknowledged he has to have a stronger script.

I think he does something totally different with these new movies and they will feel much different than the original. Which will be a good thing.
