Not directly himself but he bankrolled known Islamist organiztions and African dictators, b. This isn't Western spin, those leaders he bankrolled caused unfathomable amounts of damage so the blood is on his hands as well when it comes to that. Not to mention he was close friends with Idi Amin. It is what it is.

He was friends with alot of people....unfortunately friends don't always make great individuals either. What Islamist Organizations? Can you name them.

He was a supporter of the Moro Islamist Liberation front int he 1970's, they continue to be active in the Philippines today, he did some good things too but like my great grandma used to say, you gotta take the sugar and the shyt. What you are saying is not wrong but it would be disingenuous to acknowledge the revolutionary and not the other side of him. That's all. From a historical standpoint he was quite the divisive figure, I've heard some Africans call him a hero and some a monster.

the Sierra Leone civil war, Liberia (Charles Taylor)....these are other places where Qaddafi was involved as well as the DRC, civil war/aka toyota wars in Chad, North-South Sudan civil war, Darfur.... He also wanted to break up Nigeria and said so several times.

I mean the way that the UK/USA worked with him for his oil and then acted like liberators (against him) later on was disingenuous but Qadaffi was not anything special either.

Sad to say though, a strongman like him is probably the best thing for Libya and their tribal society (at least gradually), look how fukked up things are now.

People should also know that you grow wiser as you get older on decision to make. The 70's he was very Pro-Arab and that was his push. As time went on he knew the Arab influence really fell apart. No Man is perfect and Gaddafi knew his old ways of thinking messed him up...that's why the African Union was proposed to give the money back to the people in Gold Dinars.
