Rolling Stones has good pieces still, what kills me is how Depp invites the reporter to his house and treats him like a friend, and even commissioned this piece to be written, and he goes in on Depp and his freakish lifestyle the entire time :deadmanny:

Depp is out of his mind, and using cocaine, which is not so subtly alluded to in the piece by the reporter.

Depps spending habits are insane, check these out..

-$3 million to shoot Hunter S Thompson’s ashes into the sky with a cannon

-$7,000 couch from “keeping up with the kardashians” for his daughter

-70 guitars

-200 pieces of art

-45 luxury vehicles

- 200k a month on private air travel

-1.2 million to keep a doctor on call at all times

I read this yesterday. A couple of things seem clear to me :
1 - Johnny Depp was brought up dirt poor and never got over it
2 - Depp has had and still has substance abuse problems which severely cloud his life.
3 - Depp has never matured much past his teens
4 - whether he wants to admit it or not Depp's millions have made him much greedier over the years. He squandered 100s of millions of dollars.
5 - Depp still refuses to take control of his life from his "handlers" and family

I can't pity him because there are too many who never got opportunities like he had with all the talent he had

Even when he saw the reporter out, Depp couldn't figure out how to open his front gate and dude had to climb over the fence to leave. Someone else on another board predicted that Depp will die from a lit cigarette falling and catching his house on fire. I could see that.

There is an old Hollywood adage that states "You know that you are in trouble, when all your friends and family are on your payroll."

There is a life lesson to be learned here for anyone who ever believed that money will solve all ills.

In order to get back on track financially, he needs to sell a lot of the stuff he owns and scale back.
I'm sure he wants to keep doing the Pirate movies because those are his biggest checks, so from a financial standpoint I get that
But he needs a comeback the same way Brando needed a comeback before he starred in the The Godfather, Depp needs THAT type of a comeback
Something that will revive his career and his pockets
Brando went through a similar phase where he was starring in a bunch movies that were commercial flops
I remember reading that Brando said there was a period where he did a lot of movies just for the money, that reminds me a lot of what Johnny has been doing
And obviously, Johnny has had to do it in order to keep up his lavish lifestyle
But he really just needs to scale back on the outlandish spending, and focus on making a real comeback.

True
But a great actor is a great actor.
He just need to get focused again.
Brando was 55 when he did Apocalypse Now
Paul Newman was 61 when he did The Color of Money; shyt, Newman was 77 when he did The Road To Perdition
Many actors have continued to make great movies well into their 50's, 60's, 70's etc

Johnny Depp literally morphed into Jack Sparrow. He got into character and never got out of it :russ:

Just read this whole thing.

Cot damn....I had no idea it had gotten this bad for him.

I would kill for a similar Nicolas Cage piece (Who, coincidentally, is mentioned in the article as a "drinking buddy" who got Depp into acting).

BTW :

He moves to the couches in the living room and flips on the television. Depp has an affinity bordering on obsession with the bons vivants who had their late prime in the 1970s, whether it is Marlon Brando, Hunter S. Thompson or Don Rickles. "Rickles was the bravest comedian ever," says Depp. "He'd say anything." As proof, he finds a video of Rickles on a Dean Martin celebrity roast, turning to boxer Sugar Ray Robinson: "I want to thank Sugar Ray Robinson, who said to Rocky Graziano, ‘Hey, baby, you're hurting me.' Sugar Ray is a great champion. Sugar, we would ask you to talk, but you know the blacks, your lips lock."

"Jesus," says Waldman.

Depp insists it's ballsy, not offensive. I mumble, "I don't know about that." Depp isn't paying attention. He considers himself a funny man and tells me how in one of the early Pirates of the Caribbean movies Sparrow washes ashore and mumbles an incoherent curse.

Okay Johnny....:mjpls:
