Look. Dude clearly isn't in the right frame of mind. Sometimes an environment and situations can do that to somebody. He's not fortunate enough to know better or to have those types of resources for him available. The fact that Vice would tape someone who is down in the gutter for some clicks to generate money is fukked up. They could have gave that man some money to go to a fukking therapist to get help. They're basically watching a man ruin his life for fun and they couldnt give a fukk as long as its not them. Bet you if that same person came around and did some knockout game on these same vice magazine interviewers and etc, they would be on some other shyt. They would turn in all the footage to the NYPD leading to some gang sweep, talking about brownsville having a crime problem, then gentrify brownsville for extra measure.
Remember that MTV show True Life?
They did some behind the scenes thing on it and there was a situation where a lady helping raise her siblings didn't have enough money to buy them essential stuff at Walmart. The cameraman was like "as a human being I wanted to step out and just pay for the rest of the stuff. It wasn't nothin to pay the difference. However, that defeats the purpose of the show. It's no longer real at that point" so all he could do was film her in tears putting stuff back. That's not the mission. They're there to film you in your element, just like when the History Channel was filming every Crip set on Earth for Gangland. If that guy wanted to go to a therapist, he has to do that himself. If he doesn't have the desire to do that on his own, Vice or whoever can't do that for him.
Look at Intervention. the goal is to get you clean, but for the purpose of the show, you're gonna do plenty of drinking and smoking before that. That's really reality TV. There's no script to what was happening. In real life, a camera crew isn't gonna stop and offer him help during his real life. If you wanna help him or them, go ahead, but for your troubles, you'd likely get stomped out for not minding your own business. Most of those guys don't want your help.
