Why do people from outside L.A. talk about this like it's a good thing? Crips and Bloods in L.A. been banging from generations. Generations. People who have grandfathers who are Crips. Old heads in East Coast cities want to smack the shyt outta millenium bangers. How can you be legit when you have no real OG's?
I'm from Cali too. But I'm glad I'm from the Bay where we never had that weak ass Blood and Crip bullshyt. Crips from L.A. tried to set up shop in Hunter's Point, SF in the early 80's but got ran out. When I was coming up, nobody was getting "jumped", it was all gunplay when it came to fonk. If you weren't born and raised in the set, you can never get "put on" where I'm from.
For you East Coasters, the "set" is the neighborhood, not a gang. It's even like that in L.A. Piru, Grape St, etc. are all real streets. So you really are repping another city's shyt. The Bay is all about hustling and turfs, not gangs. So there's no recruitment, getting jumped in or goofy dances. How does your gangsta boyscouts generate any revenue?
This is the reason no one outside of NY takes NY seriously anymore. Any LOL@ the posters acting like Brooklyn is the same as it was in 1993. I live in Maryland and Baltimore is ten times worse than anywhere in NYC right now, Brownsville included.
But the dope epidemic is off the hook in Baltimore. NYC is a lot like where I'm originally from in SF where hipsters, yuppies and rich cacs are pricing the hood out of existence.
The fact that you can join a gang in your 20's as an outta towner in NYC tells me a lot of things.
Keep typing all hard and shyt while sipping an $10 latte living around hipsters in NYC wile paying $5k a month to live in a walk in closet in what is the safest big city on the East Coast.
What a joke.
