Usually a bid of years has more of a chance of parole than a life sentence

Gotcha.

When you pushing up on 1000 years and already oldhead status, I don’t think it matters much but maybe they’ll let him out by the time he can roll into a nursing home. :ehh:

Sometimes i wonder if certain judges get extreme enjoyment out of senteces like this
999 for robberies is insane unless he was killing children each time he did one

Why do they give these ridiculous prison sentences? Just do a life sentence.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that sentences with a tangible year amount have a better chance of being paroled than life sentences.

I think in Alabama, with a 999 year sentence, one could be up for parole after 20 (not familiar with the legal system or the state at all really for the record). Apparently, it's harder to become eligible for parole if he had gotten life instead :yeshrug:

But someone who knows Alabama, and legal matters like this, could probably tell you better. I just read some shyt in the Internet after coming across this article because I had the same exact thoughts you did, and wondered why did they give out these Final Fantasy numbers for sentences.
