I think it was dope. It was the sound of the album as a whole that i liked.
You don't necessarily have to be an lyrical myrical to make a good album. (although these guys where lyrical)
But i'm not a rapper i just listen to hiphop music as a whole. I recognize good music when i hear it.

Thing is about this album was that I had no idea it existed in the first place... and I think that's what made it even better when I finally heard it. Beats are amazing, rhymes are great... you can listen to it anytime. Barely any cursing so you can almost literally play it anywhere. Definite classic.

Dope album. Apple is a bit late on this though, it's been on Spotify for a while.
Both the Center of Attention and Deda's The Original Baby Pa were digitally re-issued last year. The instrumental version of Deda's album was released too

Time for that World Renown album to finally release 
man... when this leaked on the webs, shyt was like coming across the holy grail. Some of Pete's finest production ever.
This is straight up one of my favorite songs ever:
I'm sure some frauds will run up in here claiming they love this album, Pete's in their top 3, they got the CD directly from Pete Rock, yada yada
Yeah, young cats don't know the struggle of copping the cassingle of Fakin Jax and waiting for the lp to drop only for it never happen...
The first thing I did when I finally got a cpu & the internet was to find this lp, trigger the gambler's lp on audiogalaxy.
It's kinda crazy that the o.g. version of this with the interludes was never put out & I always get
seeing how Pete put out that mediocre deda album instead of mekolicious's lp.

This is a great album 
I saw Pete Rock and Slum Village perform a few years ago.
My favorite track is probably What You Say, though Fakin Jax is a classic, but I like What You Say’s backstory - of how heads thought People Under the Stairs jacked their sample even though their album was released before Centa of Attention came out, so they had no idea.

One of my favorite albums of all time. Some of Pete Rock's best work.
I remember discovering this back in 07 and I had to drive to Jacksonville to LA to help my mom move 
. Had my moms impressed too.
